Amanda Kearney is St. Andrew’s Cooperative Nursery School’s Co-Director and Co-Lead Teacher in the 4-year old program. Amanda joined the St. Andrew’s family as a parent when one of her sons was in the 3-year old program. When her son moved into the preK program at St. Andrew’s, Amanda became the lead 3-year old teacher.
With over 15 years of teaching experience and a Masters in Childhood Education, Amanda was excited to work with younger children in preschool. With a background in science, Amanda enjoys bringing in hands-on STEAM lessons to enhance the children’s learning. Amanda, her husband and their 3 children have called Smithtown home since 2016.
In 2021, Amanda Kearney and Malissa Nelson became Co-Directors and Co-Teachers in the 4-year old program. With over 30 years of combined education experience they are developing a child-centered program to enrich students and prepare them for kindergarten.
