St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church has a long history of correspondence and support for the Little Baguio Mission – Malita, in the Philippines. At the end of 2021, we asked how our congregation might make a significant contribution to help the mission and people of Little Baguio. In a short time, we were engaged in a conversation about the possibility of supporting a simple youth center inside a church property in a village outside the center of Little Baguio. There is a strong and active group of young people in that area, involved for the care of the aged, for the follow up of poor families, and animating themselves with regular bible study and sharing. After numerous setbacks, including six months of rain, the building of the youth center is now complete.
Update on the Youth Center
A NOTE TO ST. ANDREW’S FROM FATHER PIERRE OF THE LITTLE BAGUIO MISSION:
Dear friends,
Yes the Lord is coming! And in some way, he already has come since we are now able to inform you that as expected we were able to finish the construction of our Youth Center with the financial support you sent us a long time ago.
We sincerely thank all of you in your community for that support and concern for the young people. I am adding a document full of pictures giving you a glance of the activities we were able to organize to finally complete the building of that Center.
The final picture in that document will remain a permanent remembrance of your contribution for that pastoral project. And I’m sure God will know how to pour more blessings on the members of your Congregation for all the benefits our young people will receive because of your generosity.
I hope to be able to send you once in a while a kind of summary of the coming activities that will be organized during this coming year.
